CrowdAlt charges a 0% platform fee to campaign creators. When you raise ₦1,000,000, you receive ₦1,000,000 in your Nigerian bank account. Payment gateway fees (1.5% + ₦100) are transparently covered by donors at checkout and paid directly to licensed payment switches. Optional tips keep our platform free and secure.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “Organizer,” “Donor,” or “Beneficiary”) and CrowdAlt (“CrowdAlt,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a digital platform created and operated by TRANZT DIGITALS LIMITED (RC-7612345), governing your access to and use of our platform, website, mobile interfaces, and donation processing infrastructure.
By creating a campaign, submitting a donation, resolving a bank account, or browsing our platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use CrowdAlt.
2. The CrowdAlt Model & 0% Platform Fee
Unlike conventional fundraising websites that take a 5% to 8% cut of money raised for emergencies and charities, CrowdAlt charges 0% platform commission to organizers.
We do not take a percentage of the funds you raise for medical care, tuition, clean water, or community relief.
We operate on voluntary tips contributed by generous donors and organizers upon payout to power our servers and customer care.
3. Payment Processing Fees (1.5% + ₦100)
Every digital transaction in Nigeria requires interbank switching, fraud prevention, and card rail maintenance. CrowdAlt partners with licensed Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) payment gateways (including Paystack).
To guarantee that the organizer receives 100% of the intended donation:
- The standard payment processing fee of 1.5% + ₦100 (for local NGN payments) is added to the donation and paid by the donor at checkout.
- This processing fee is remitted directly to the payment gateway and settlement network. CrowdAlt does not retain or profit from this transaction fee.
- International debit/credit cards processed across diaspora corridors are subject to standard international interchange rates established by Visa, Mastercard, and Paystack.
4. Organizer Obligations & Transparency
As an Organizer creating a campaign on CrowdAlt, you represent and warrant that:
- All statements, medical reports, budget estimates, and photographs uploaded to your fundraiser are truthful, current, and accurate.
- All disbursed funds will be used exclusively and strictly for the explicit purpose detailed in your campaign description.
- If you are organizing a campaign on behalf of another person (Beneficiary), you have obtained their explicit permission or are their legal guardian.
- You will provide public progress updates to your donor community regarding milestones, treatments, or project completion.
5. Identity Verification & Payouts
To protect donors and maintain complete trust across our ecosystem:
Before any payout is approved, organizers must link a verified 10-digit Nigerian NUBAN bank account matching their Bank Verification Number (BVN) and government-issued identity credentials.
Payouts are settled directly via Paystack transfer rails into commercial or digital banks in Nigeria (including GTBank, Access Bank, Zenith Bank, Kuda, Moniepoint, and OPAY). CrowdAlt charges zero withdrawal fees.
6. Prohibited Activities
The following campaigns and actions are strictly prohibited on CrowdAlt and will result in immediate termination, fund freeze, and referral to law enforcement:
- Fraudulent misrepresentation of medical emergencies, death, or disaster.
- Pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, crypto investment schemes, or lotteries.
- Campaigns promoting hatred, discrimination, weapons, violence, or unlawful conduct.
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, or attempts to evade Nigerian banking regulations.
7. Donor Provisions & Voluntary Tips
Donations made on CrowdAlt are voluntary gifts to campaigns and their beneficiaries. Donors receive an instant electronic receipt via email confirming their transaction reference and payment channel.
Donors can choose whether to leave a voluntary tip to support CrowdAlt's 0% platform operations. Tips are entirely optional and can be adjusted to 0% at checkout without penalty.
8. Limitation of Liability & Governing Law
CrowdAlt provides an online intermediary platform enabling individuals and registered charities to connect with supporters. Except as explicitly stated in our CrowdAlt Giving Guarantee, CrowdAlt is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from campaign disputes.
These Terms shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising hereunder shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Nigeria.
